Tiny’s Orchard near the Columbia River in Douglas County is in a superb microclimate ideal for growing stone fruit. Our other orchard close to the airport in East Wenatchee is more ideal for growing apples and pears. Colder nights in the fall help mature and color all apple varieties that have any red color.

We grow over 100 varieties of Certified Organic fruit and vegetables such as Rainier Cherries, Strawberries, Rainbow Carrots, Dapple Dandy Pluots, Donut Peaches, Tasty Rich Apriums, Heirloom Apples & Tomatoes, Perfection Fennel, Chioggia Beets, Fava Beans and Snow Leopard Melons! One way or another all those varieties will end up in your weekly CSA bag or at your local farmers market during the growing season.

We strongly believe it is important to know where your food comes from and how it’s grown.  Our farm is owned and run by the McPherson family, Greg, Rosalie, Erin, John & Jay, and all five of us are involved in running and working on the farm on a daily basis.

We strongly believe we all need to eat as healthy and sustainably as we can.  We have been in the fruit growing business for 40 years and organically for 20 years.  Our CSA program has helped us move toward sustainability and a greater self-sufficiency in ways not available through other channels.

Meet Tiny's CSA Farm Staff

Tiny’s is a Single CSA Membership Farm

In other words, everything you receive each week is grown on our farm.  Are you flexible in the kitchen and at the dinner table and willing to work with whatever varieties our farm’s harvest provides?  Are you committed to eating seasonally and willing to try new and different fruit/produce items?  If so, then Tiny’s CSA program is the right fit for you!

Tiny’s Organic family farm is a USDA & WSDA certified organic working farm owned by the McPherson family in East Wenatchee, WA.  Our CSA program is not a delivery service nor is it an exact cash-for-produce exchange but it is a wonderful way for members to know who grows their food and receive deliciously fresh, organic fruit and vegetables from our farm each week for 22 weeks.

What to Expect

We understand that our CSA members (and especially those that are joining us for the first time) take a leap of faith by joining our single-farm CSA and assume a shared risk with us throughout the season.

In appreciation of that trust, every week during our 22 week growing season we give our members simply the best of our harvest and we feel our program provides a great value in price and even more so in freshness, flavor, variety, increased health, community involvement and joy.

Our Farm’s Goal

Our goal is to provide members with a balanced mix of seasonal organic fruit and vegetables grown on our farm.  The actual quantity of fruit and vegetables and weight per week varies depending on weather, crop load and quality of individual varieties ready for harvest.

When the weather is cool in Wenatchee you will likely receive more salad, Asian and hearty greens with some cool-weather vegetables, conversely, as the weather warms up, you can expect to see more fruit and more varieties of fruit as well as some hot-weather vegetables and some salad greens.

You can expect the weekly bags at the start of the harvest season to be lighter in weight than bags in our peak and later season due to differences in seasonal varieties (for example: radishes vs. tomatoes, cherries vs. plums, spring onions vs. winter squash) and amount available for harvest.

The content of each member’s bag may vary slightly.  We do our best to plant enough for each member to enjoy every crop harvested every week it is ready, but due to the nature of farming, not every plant or piece of fruit of a variety ripens at the same time or even survives until harvest so we must fill the bags with what is ready at the time of harvest.

We publish a weekly newsletter with seasonal recipes and information on what we hope to put in the weekly CSA bag based on what the fields look like when we harvest Monday morning and include it in each member’s bag.

If you notice your bag contents differ from what is in the newsletter, it simply means we made a change in contents due to quantity or quality issues and our farm crew rounded out your bag with another variety or two, either an extra of one that was listed or another that was ready for harvest at picking time.
